As the 2024/25 Season draws to a close, the Dorking RFC Trustees are delighted to announce the successor to retiring President, Jonty Watts.
There is club-wide recognition and gratitude for the fantastic job Jonty has done over the past 4 years and we thank him for all that he has achieved. Of course, there is a big thank you to Annie and the family for loaning him to us!! Jonty has thrived in the role of being a figure head and ambassador for Dorking RFC, as well as providing valuable input and support to the volunteer board, who manage the day-to-day affairs of the club.

Jonty’s long-term involvement and experience in how the club functions has also meant he has been an excellent mentor and support to the next generation of volunteers across all parts of the Club. Thanks again, Jonty, we know you won’t be far away!
I am delighted to announce that Paul Mosley has accepted the Trustees’ invitation to become the 11th President of Dorking Rugby Football Club.
Here is a bit of background on Paul.
Paul joined the club in 1998, when son Fraser got involved with the Minis under the tutelage of Leo Kane, and the following season with Richard Sexton’s group.
In 2000, he began coaching the U7s with Phil ‘Percy’ Dalton and Will Clemson, continuing with the age group (as manager) as they became a strong side, winning the National U17s Cup at Sixways in 2012, with an all-star cast including Will Bennett, Joey Bennett, Luke Chitty, Henry Smith, Ollie Hutson, Adam Worth, Fred Dalton and, of course, Fraser Mosley… who all went on to play for the 1st XV at Dorking, with plenty of the squad also enjoying senior rugby at the club.
From 2006, Paul played for the Derelicts and ten great fun years of social rugby and friendships followed, as well as occasional outings with the Extra As and even the As.
During the early years at Dorking, alongside the coaching, Paul also served as youth chairman and then as PR/comms officer, producing the club handbook for a number of years. He also compiled and edited the very first matchday programme for the 1st XV. In recent years, Paul has been part of the team on the matchday mic at home games.
As you can see, Paul brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the role of President and is well placed to help guide us through the next chapter of our evolution.
Please join me in congratulating Paul on his appointment and wishing him and wife Claire well for the next few years. We are very fortunate to have a true clubman step up to the plate and I know he will do a great job across the whole Club – enjoy the ride!!
