Dorking RFC U13s host Guildford RFC

Not the wind, wet nor ridiculously muddy conditions on Sunday were enough to deter the U13s Age Group, and their guests Guildford RC, from putting on some excellent joint training and inter-club matches over on Pitch 6.

The Guildford boys arrived in high spirits with around 28 players ready for the best our Dorking boys could throw their way. After a thorough warm up, squads were selected with one or two Dorking boys stepping into the blue colours of Guildford to make up the team numbers, for what proved to be a very well balanced set of games enjoyed by all.

Everyone had a superb time with the boys applying their skills out on the far corner of The Big Field. Sportsmanship, teamwork and camaraderie shone through in all four squads and it was fantastic to see how rugby connected the players in such positive way.

Overall results were pretty even with nothing in it, but friendships through Sport was hands down the real winner.

After finishing up and packing the kit away the boys (and coaches & parents) found their way to the Dorking Club House were the Rob and his Team at the Rugby Hut Servery went into full production mode serving food for the hungry boys and coaches.

A great morning of rugby had, and shared by all, and a huge thank to Guildford FC for travelling over to our neck of the woods to compete at such a high level.
