Dorkfordley’s Flying Start Wins Big At Farnham

Farnham 0-6 Dorkfordley

23 March 2025

The Dorkfordley (Dorking/Guildford/Camberley) Under 12 Girls team had a fantastic Round 4 Quins Cup win away to Farnham on Sunday. The girls came out firing on all cylinders, the first quarter finishing with five tries scored to no reply. With Milly W scoring with a powerful charge to the line straight from the second quarter restart, the game was called at 6-0.

The game continued to completion unscored, which gave some of our developing players a great opportunity to express themselves with some extra game time.

The match was played in excellent competitive spirit and Farnham were great hosts. The girls continued to develop their structured approach to both attack and defence, which required a strong team effort across the pitch.

There were some wonderful individual tries, both from long range but also in the tight up the middle, it was great to see our stronger runners leading from the front. There were also some great team tries too, particularly in the second half when the girls started to string more passes together and exploit the space out wide.

Getting the ball wide to the open spaces after an initial forward thrust will be a key work on at training as the girls now prepare for Finals Day. More consistent tackling and more aggressive rucking will also be training priorities, but overall the girls should be extremely proud of a dominant performance.
