As we approach the beginning of the 2023/2024 season, Dorking RFC is pleased to confirm its senior squad for the upcoming National 2 East campaign. Starting with our forwards we are pleased to announce the players below have recomitted to the club for the new season.

Front Row
Callum Watson
Callum made his national league debut last season and joined Dorking in the 18/19 Season straight from Canterbury Uni. Callum is a very impressive single handicapper in golf and an equally competent cricketer and has really been a stalwart for Dorking over the years at hooker.
Charlie Connor
Charlie played every game in 21/22 and picked up early injury on our 22/23 campaign. He has been instrumental in supporting the team behind the scenes while injured and is eager to go and can play this year, both loosehead and tighthead.

Henry Birch
Henry joined Dorking half-way through the promotion season in 21/22 and has continued as a Forwards Coach and valuable 1st team player who can cover loosehead and hooker.

Jonny Ellis*
Jonny has been an absolute rock when it comes to set piece and his ability to think and play like a back rower is phenomenal. Top try scorer out of the tight 5 players in the league last season is something to be proud of. Jonny is also our club’s elected club captain, taking over from James Catton.

Joss Hammond*
Joss picked injury early in the 22/23 season after making his 1st team debut against promoted Blackheath. Joss is comfortable at hooker and will be looking to bounce back this year.

Max Sheldrake*
Max has steadily been getting more and more game time and developed into a tighthead to be reckoned with at set piece, alongside some strong ball carrying and tackling ability. Max can play tighthead and loosehead.
Oli Rawlinson*
Oli made his senior and 1st team debut all in one season after being fresh from the Colts setup. Oli has a real abrasive nature for his age and works hard away from the training pitch. Oli primary position is hooker but was utilised across the front row for the 2’s last year.
Tom Powell
Tom has been one amazing story in that he took to rugby late in life and with less than 40 games of rugby in his lifetime, quickly showed his competence at playing loosehead and 6.
Will Goudie*
Will had a great start to his 22/23 campaign before injury hampered progress but finished strong at hooker for the season.
Tom Bristow*
Tom returned to the big field after his professional exploits at Sale Sharks, Hong Kong, Wasps, to name but a few, and has been a valuable asset being able to play both tight and loosehead.
George Evans*
George has made his Debut for Dorking in National 2 back in 14/15 season and has been ever present around the club as player and ex-club captain. George is most comfortable at tighthead but can cover both sides of the scrum, if needed.

Second & Back Row
Daragh Chambers*
Daragh has had a plethora of caps for the 1’s over the years and have been ever presence since leaving our Dorking Colts section. Daragh is both comfortable in the back row and the second row.
Finn Osborne*
Finn had one cracking season in 22/23 and had some great games where he really imposed himself. Finn only missed one game last season and keen to build on that consistency.
Fred Dalton*
Our Captain, Fred, who also made his Nat 2 debut for Dorking in the 15/16 season had a stormer of a season last year in his first year of being skipper making the National League Rugby selection in their Team of the Year at 7.
Jasper King*
Jasper has been phenomenal in both application and getting better every year. His ability to dominate contact and set piece has been a great strength of his. Jasper is equally as comfortable at Second row as he is at 8. Jasper made his National 2 debut for Dorking at 17 in 15/16 season.

Joel Grant
Joel has been Mr Dependable since joining us in the 18/19 campaign and have been very prominent each year for Dorking.
Matty Gwyther*
Matt got his chance to play first team last year and he really showed that he is on the right path. Matty has been very hard working since leaving colts in the 20/21 season and really kicking on well in the back row and loves a lineout.
Steve Howorth
“One more year” Steve has been phenomenal in both attack and defence last season and since getting married in the summer is now keen to make sure he stays fit. Steve joined Dorking over 10 years ago.

Tom Chave*
Tom has been a very imposing player over the years and picked up a niggle early last season meaning he missed most of the season. Tom can play both back row and second row and is also in the armed services.

Tom Dobson*
Tom has shown some real class in stepping up for the 1’s last year playing at both back row and second row. Tom used to be a Centre turned back row and his ability to be comfortable in both open play and tight games are great.

Tom Nairn
Tom has been a great player for Dorking since joining in the 19/20 season. Tom is great in the lineouts and really drives standards around him. Tom can play at both second row and back row.
Tyler Norwood*
Tyler has been ever present over the years and more so over the last two where he is making his physi-cality felt on both sides of the ball. Tyler is comfortable both at back row and at centre and scored a great try for England under 18’s against Ireland
Will Goodfellow*
Will has been great when playing for Dorking and has shown some real physicality on both sides of the ball. Will is also avid 7’s players and comfortable at back row and second row.

Will Scholes
Will Scholes joined us for the 22/23 season and was shortlisted as player of the season alongside being a stand-out player both at back row and at second row.
Rory Mitchell*
Rory has been standout when he has been about training and playing for us over the past few years. Rory is also in the armed services and shown on the big stage that he can really play some cracking rugby. Rory is comfortable anywhere in the back row and backs as a well-rounded athlete.
Toby Arnett*
Toby has been around and shown his ability at training for some time but injury has kept him from fully committing but is now ready to give 100% again. Toby is a great Back row who can comfortably play second row.
Ted Carey
Ted's development has been amazing over the years and loves everything about being part of Dorking. Always driving standards.
