Dorking Women produced a superb all-round performance to secure an emphatic 62–15 victory over Jersey, in a match that combined free-flowing rugby with a brilliant club atmosphere from start to finish.

The day began in style with a bottomless brunch for players, supporters and sponsors, setting the tone for what would become a memorable afternoon in bright sunshine, albeit with a testing wind that played its part throughout.

From the first whistle, Dorking asserted their dominance, playing with pace, precision and confidence. The home side ran in an impressive ten tries, showcasing both their attacking depth and clinical finishing. Esme opened the scoring and went on to claim a brace, while Laura also crossed twice in a strong individual display.

Further tries came from Rachel Kinsella, Rachel Higgins, Jem, Lauren P, Lexie and Gemma L, each contributing to a relentless attacking effort that kept Jersey under pressure for large periods of the game.

Rachel Higgins added the extras with the boot, though the swirling wind proved challenging at times. Despite the conditions, she kept the scoreboard ticking and controlled the game superbly from the backline.

Dorking’s dominance was reflected across the pitch, with Lauren P earning Forward of the Match for her powerful work in the pack, while Jem was deservedly named Back of the Match after a dynamic and influential performance. The overall Player of the Match award went to Rachel Higgins, who capped an outstanding display with both try-scoring and game management.

To their credit, Jersey showed great resilience, finishing the match strongly with three late tries in the second half to bring their total to 15 points. However, the result was never in doubt as Dorking maintained control throughout.

It was a fantastic, dominant display from Dorking Women—one that combined attacking flair, solid structure and a real sense of team spirit, making it a day to remember both on and off the pitch.
