Sponsor Spotlight – Jackson-Stops & Staff

This month we focus the Sponsor Spotlight on one of DRFC’s longest-standing supporters, Dorking estate agent Jackson-Stops & Staff. A lead sponsor of the club since 2005, Alan King and his team have seen a lot of changes on and off the big field. But one thing that has always impressed Alan – in fact, it’s a prime reason for his continued support of DRFC – is the sense of community and team spirit that exists here.
Alan explains: “The inclusive family-friendly atmosphere at Dorking Rugby Club is one of the most attractive aspects for us as a sponsor. I’ll go one step further and say that Dorking’s ‘One Club’ ethos is the number one reason for our continued support. Being part of a successful community-minded club is something we are very proud of.”
“Community” features very strongly in conversations with Alan. It’s one of the main reasons given by house-hunters looking to relocate to the Dorking area. “Being in such a beautiful part of the country is a great bonus,” Alan continues, “and the sense of community which exists in Dorking is valued by many of our clients. Dorking is pretty unique as it is ring-fenced by so many areas of outstanding natural beauty and green belt land – giving the area a real sense of protection.” The beautiful Surrey countryside that we’re all so familiar with lends itself well to outdoor pursuits such as cycling, walking and sports – including rugby of course!

All plus points for a significant number of Alan’s clients who put health and well-being high on their list when researching where to live.
But what about Brexit and its impact on the housing market? “Inevitably the dreaded Brexit has been unsettling,” Alan responds, “but thankfully people are still making positive decisions about moving. We’re definitely still seeing a viable housing market.” Proof of Alan’s confidence in the housing market is his decision to expand in to Reigate, where he will open Jackson-Stops & Staff’s 45th office later this month. Being part of such a well-established organisation has many benefits, but each individual office runs along the lines of an autonomous business – reacting quickly and efficiently to local market conditions and driving forces. A powerful combination, where being at the heart of a local community is a major factor in Jackson-Stops and Staff’s success – just like our very own DRFC!
