On Sunday afternoon, 30 girls from 4 clubs gathered at Dorking for the second round of the Surrey U15 Girls Chairman's Cup. With the competition and training having been severely disrupted by the weather and the threat of further sporting activity being suspended indefinitely, the emphasis was on getting the girls some match time.

Playing in a 6 a side, Cross Pitch format, the Dorking Girls played 3 matches against Chobham, Warlingham and Guildford. Although they had a slow start, the Dorking Girls shed the rust and improved throughout the day, growing in confidence and bringing the skills they'd learnt into play. The game against Warlingham was particularly thrilling; a try fest with Dorking finally being pipped 41 - 42.

All the girls played in great spirit and the afternoon ended with smiles, laughter and a sense of achievement. The Dorking Girls would like to thank all those who contributed to their crowd funding campaign last year which enabled them to purchase match kit, with special mention for Dorking Butchery, Seymours & Darren James Bye.
