The 1st XV got the show back on the road on Saturday with a hard-earned 19-10 victory over Guildford, as all three senior sides enjoyed victory. First-half tries from wingers Fraser Mosley and Joseph Mogaji gave Dorking a strong lead and captain Matt Noble steered the side to victory with three penalties. Dorking’s expansive game clicked back into place this week and our aggressive defence neutralised the visitors’ big pack. We nearly had a third try when Harry Watts grounded on the line, but it was not given. And there were some outstanding passages of play, none more so than big lock Harry Sheppard’s storming run breaking five tackles before offloading a text book pass – see picture – to Joe for his try. It was also great day for the Dobson family, flanker Tom making his 1st XV debut and joining brother Jake for the first time.
